GDPR (General Data Protection Regulations) is a legal framework that sets guidelines for the collection and processing of personal information of individuals within the European Union in order to make Europe ‘fit for the digital age’. One of the key components of this reforms is the introduction of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) which was introduced in January 2012. This new EU framework applies to organizations in all member-states and has been implemented for businesses and individuals across Europe.

One of the key fundamentals of the reforms is the introduction of the GDPR. This new EU framework applies to a digital marketing company in all member-states, businesses, individuals across Europe and beyond. GDPR compliance_this broad new law applies to all companies that collect and process data belonging to European Union citizen no matter if it’s done outside of the EU. Its application_ it applies to any institute operating within the EU, as well as any digital marketing services, outside of the EU which offers goods and services to customers or business in the EU. Personal data under the GDPR_ the types of data treated personally under the actual law include name, address, and photos. It also includes rare personal data which could be processed to exactly analyze an individual. When it comes into force_ GDPR was applied across the European Union from 25 May 2018, and all member nations are wanted to have transferred it into their own national law by 6 May 2018.

GDPR means to business_ the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is expected to affect smaller companies as a recent survey shows that 82%1 of SMEs are unaware of the new legislation and will definitely hit with large fines when it starts being imposed next year. Now lets know from customer side I.e GDPR means for customers_ After providing lots of security also data breaks and get hacks and unluckily fact is that the important data such as mail address, password, security codes etc any sensitive information are legged and exposed on the internet and here comes the information about major changes that GDPR will bring is providing consumers with a right to get know when their data has been hacked or what else illegal process is done. First off is data permissions, how to get permission from the user to use their personal details. The focused point here is you need to off to all those good old soft opt-in forms and welcome to getting much stronger consent- what we call a hard opt-in form.

Data Access:

The right to be forgotten has become one of the most talked about rulings in EU law. It gives people the right to have old or mistaken personal data to be removed.

Data Focus:

As marketers, we can all be guilty of collecting a little more data from a person than we actually need. Actually, the thing is you need to focus on the data you need and stop asking for what extra it has.
